theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude Palette Photos and Review

A few weeks ago I purchase theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude palette on Hautelook. They have big sales where you can usually get at least 50% off of the regular price. Well I have been wanting this palette for awhile so I took the plunge finally. Here are some photos:

I am really impressed with this palette. Actually I am really impressed with all theBalm products. I have yet to get a bad one. These shadows are super pigmented and very soft. This is definitely worth the purchase.

A little giftie

I received a wonderful surprise today in the mail. Zadidoll sent me some goodies! She sent me two Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars and a Sigma Eyeliner brush. Look at my new pretties!

Unfortunately the OCC Lip Tar in Trollop decided to explode in the envelope but not too much leaked out so I put it in a little jar and saved most of it. Sigma Eye Liner brush on the top, OCC Lip Tar in NSFW, OCC Lip Tar in Trollop. Sorry about the bad lighting.

OCC Lip Tar in NSFW, Trollop. Aren’t they beautiful?! Thanks Zadi, I adore these. 😀

If you haven’t visited her site yet, take a moment to go check it out. She always has all the new Birchbox goodies and a ton of great information.

I ordered the OTM (of the month) from Glamour Doll Eyes for December 2012. I was so surprised by all of the goodies I got! I just got this today but I had to come blog it for you guys right away.

It came packaged up in this cute pink bag. Love how it has a matching brush sticking out

I am really pleased with these great loose pigments that are in gorgeous and useful colors. They have super cute packaging plus they are sealed really well so they don’t leak like some others pigments I have ordered.

I thought these were going to be sort of blah browns but they surprised me a lot. The samples of the January colors are just making me drool.

Kiss My Sass Lipstick sample in Polar Bear Kisses.

I am actually totally smitten by the lipstick from Kiss My Sass. It smells so fruity and delicious. The formula is very smooth and super pigmented. This will definitely be a future purchase for me.

I thought this looked sort of weird when I first opened it. Once I swatched it though it was pretty nice. It has a super soft consistency and is very smooth.

I was pleasantly surprised at the new brush from Sedona Lace. It has super soft bristles and worked well when I used it today for blending.

All in all, I was very happy with my Glamour Doll Eyes OTM. I got a lot of stuff for the small price. The items were well packaged and shipped fast. The products were all amazing and unfortunately for my pocket book, items I would like to have full sizes of.

Starlooks December 2012 Starbox Photos

Woohoo! I got my much anticipated Starbox today. Last month a few people had a problem with their shadows being a little damaged from shipping. I am happy to report mine showed up this month in perfect condition. Here is what I received:

It came in a cute dark pink box with gold ribbon.

I opened it up to find this pretty insert as well as iridescent glittery pieces that looked like snow.

The palette inside it’s box. I like the windows on the box so I can see the colors without taking it out.

Here is the long anticipated palette. Beautiful isn’t it? I really like how there are 3 of each shade. This was definitely worth the price of this month! I always enjoy my Starboxes.

Covergirl Blast Flipsticks Photos and Review

I was chosen by BzzAgent to do the Covergirl blastflipstick campaign. I get to try beautiful products in exchange for my honest opinion. I’ve never been one to hold that back lol. Anyway, here is what I received:

The box it all came in.

All 3 of the flipsticks.

Covergirl Blastflipstick in Stunner. These are a gorgeous bold orange set. The dark orange serves as a gorgeous base to the more shimmery light golden orange. This would be a perfect summer or fall color.

Covergirl Blastflipstick in Minx. Honestly when I pulled this one out of the box and saw that super dark brown I cringed. I figured I would pass it on to one of my friends with darker skin tones. Once I swatched it along with the lighter shade I realized that it wasn’t as dark as I previously thought. It could be worn by most skin tones, especially in fall. This one took me by surprise for sure.

Covergirl Blastflipstick in Vixen. This is a gorgeous pink combo that reminds me of cotton candy. It is definitely the most traditional of the three and very girlie. This is the one I grabbed at first when I opened the box. I know I don’t need any more pinks but this is so pretty I just adore it. Definitely my favorite one.

The bottom line is that these are great colors with a good formula so I think people will love them. There are quite a few more colors for sale in your local superstore or drugstore.
These samples were sent to me for free from BzzAgent. View my disclaimer.

Shea Terra Organics Gingered Pumpkin Review

I discovered Shea Terra Organics from Birchbox months ago. I received a sample of their Whipped Shea Butter and fell in love. It smelled so good and didn’t irritate my super sensitive skin. Since then I have tried a few of their other products. First it was the Rose Hips Black Soap that I reviewed here. Then it was the Premium Dark Chocolate Sugar Stone Scrub (smells so good I could eat it) that I received in my Beauty Army box that I reviewed here. Then there were the purchases that I forgot to blog about… the samples of the Bourbon Vanilla Whipped Shea Butter and Marula Whipped Shea Butter. You get the picture. I am addicted. I vowed to stop purchasing their products for awhile…

Until… I saw the Gingered Pumpkin Whipped Shea Butter. How on earth could I pass this up? Perfect fall scent in a quality product and I had Birchbox points to use. So I did. The Jar is a whopping 9 ounces (255 ml). It has this wonderful fall sweet scent. It isn’t like those candles that are way too sweet. It is more subtle and amazing. The shea butter itself is incredibly rich and smooth. I truly can’t say enough about their products. I am a true fan. It is the great item for a Christmas present. It doesn’t smell to feminine so you could purchase this for a man as well as a woman.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated or compensated by Shea Terra Organics in any way, I just adore their products!

Ipsy November Box 2012 Photos and Review

I am subscribed to IPSY, a monthly beauty sampling service. Here is what I received for November:

These always come shipped in a bright pink mailer but for some reason I couldn’t find mine when I went to photograph it. Most of you have seen them on my previous Ipsy (formerly MyGlam) posts. Everything came tucked into this shiny brown bag.

This is Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel. The gel is clear and goes on smooth. It makes your brows look darker while keeping them in place.I didn’t even realize I wanted this stuff but I have to admit, it makes my brows look nicer.

In my original bag I received this and it appeared to be empty. At the prompting of a Makeup Talk forum member, I removed the stopper in the top to see if that was just brushing it all off. It wasn’t, it was empty. I notified Ipsy and they sent me out a new one right away that is nice and full. +1 for great customer service.

This is theBalm’s Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow. It is a medium brown that is buildable. Perfect for a brown smokey eye. Adorable packaging too!

This is Nailtini’s Nail Lacquer in Millionaire.  I wasn’t even aware of this brand before I received this. Let me tell you the picture does not do this justice. This is a clear base with rose gold micro glitter along with gold and teal long bars of glitter. It is just gorgeous.

This is Starlet’s Intense Eyeliner in Chocolate. It is pretty straightforward. Medium brown eye liner that lasts quite well. Nice product.

This is bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie in Dare Devil. It has a sweet scent but I can’t decide if it is fruity or slightly chocolatey. Either way it smells nice. It feels minty on your lips and goes on quite smoothly. I actually stuck this in my purse for on the go use.

Starlooks Birthday Box Photos and Review

If you are a Starlooks Starbox subscriber they send you a birthday box during your birthday month. Isn’t that cool? Nothing skimpy either, nice full size products. My birthday was in November and here is what I got. They come in a cute pink box which I forgot to photograph but you can see it in the background here.

  • Starlooks Tender Gloss Lipstick in Tipsy: This is a medium shimmery orange lipstick. It is nice and smooth and doesn’t have a heavy scent. I am not a big orange lipstick user but this shade was quite complimentary on me.
  • Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy: This is a nice lip liner that compliments the lipstick. Love matching sets!
  • Starlooks Glitter Glam Brillants in BB Pink: This is loose fine glitter for your body, hair, face, etc. I actually wore it over shadow on my eyelids the first time. Afterwards I read that it isn’t to be used around eyes. Oops. It is super pretty and definitely my favorite thing in the box.

Starlooks Starbox November 2012 Photos & Review

I received my Starbox today. It is slowly becoming my most anticipated subscription each month. It probably has something to do with the fact that while I appreciate skincare, haircare and other beauty items, I really love makeup. Shocker I know lol. Anyway, here is what I got:

It came in this adorable leopard print box. Too cute!

The insert about the upcoming holiday box.

Insert with description of this month’s box.

This is what it looked like when I opened it. Two of the eyeshadows were loose in my box. They got the inside a bit dusty but they were only nicked on the top so they were fine. The box was completely closed so I am not even sure how they got loose.

So you will notice that odd looking pink thing. I didn’t know what it was when I first saw a picture of it. It is a mascara guard. Anyone who is clumsy like me or sneezes a lot can appreciate this. I hate getting my eye makeup just perfect only to “doink” it with my mascara, leaving an ugly black spot that I try to remove. Inevitably it leads to me having to redo half of my eyes. This will definitely be used.

The pretty shadows all back in their box. Nice autumn colors just like I love!

These are the shadows above, Top to bottom, left to right. Pretty aren’t they. The first color is hard to see on my arm but it shows up as a nice highlight on my eye.

I wasn’t too excited when I saw this color in the tube. I figured it was just another nude until…

I swatched it. It is a beautiful peachy gold with a nice subtle shimmer. Further proof that I need to try stuff before I make judgements. I really love this color. It is great for fall and winter looks. It would certainly look nice with the fall color shadows we got as well as a nice, light snowy look.

As always the box came with the cute little crystals inside that I forgot to get a picture of. Oops. The good news is that once again Starbox really hits it out of the park for me. I am so happy with what I got.

I also received my birthday Starbox but I will blog about that another day.
