Luxebox Fall 2012

I recently discovered Luxebox from Loose Button. They were previously a Canadian only subscription but have branched out to us Americans. This is my fall seaonsal box. I was pleasantly surprised by what I received:

The absolutely beautiful box and packaging that it came in.

Schick Hydro Silk Razor: This is a pretty nice razor. It works smoothly but occasionally leaves me with a touch of razor burn.

Vichy Refreshing Face Toner: This stuff rocks. I love it. Great toner without drying my face out. Principessa Beauty Pretty Piede Foot Balm: This is nice foot balm for dry feet. It is smooth with a nice scent.

Orlane firming serum: This works ok, I have only used it twice so it’s really hard to tell. Orlane Super Moisturizer: This works well but has kinda of an odd scent.

Essie Nail Polish in Stylenomics. It is a dark forest green and very pretty. I am a huge Essie fan so I loved getting this. Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish strips in a gold glitter color. I haven’t tried this color but I have had these before. They work ok but only for one or two days. They look nice though and give you a fancy look without taking forever.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid liner in Black. This is the second one of these I have received. I got one in my Birchbox a few months back and I adore these. They are super black, stay on well and because it is a pen style liner you have a lot of control. Super happy to have a backup!

Overall, this was a really great box. It was packaged beautifully with quality items and I would definitely recommend Luxebox to any beauty queens or those who are looking to get some fun stuff.

Birchbox July

I received my Birchbox for July the other day. This is what I received:

Birchbox July

L to R back: Harvey Prince Hello Perfume, Birchbox earbuds, Larabar Apple Turnover
L to R middle: Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint, Color Club Blue-Ming
Front: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner in Black

  • Harvey Prince Hello Perfume: It starts out a little citrusy and then dries down to a soft floral. When I first sprayed it I thought it was very strong. Once it dried down it was nice. I probably wouldn’t purchase it again but I will definitely enjoy it while I have it.
  • Birchbox earbuds: These are super cute but the sound quality isn’t the best. It’s good for backup earbuds or for taking to the beach.
  • Larabar Apple Turnover: This surprised me. I expected it to be like other “natural” bars. I was surprised at the consistency so much I went and checked the ingredients. It only contains walnuts, pecans, dried apples, raisins, dates, cinnamon, sea salt, brown rice syrup and honey. Needless to say it was sweet, sticky and nutty. I really enjoyed it.
  • Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl: I love this stuff but the color I received was a bit light. LMT is really nice when you put it on. It is light and smooth.
  • Color Club Blue-Ming: I like Color Club quite a bit for polish.  This was no exception. It was smooth going on and the color was a lovely minty green.
  • Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner in black: This was my first time trying this. It is super smooth and pigmented. It is like a soft marker so it is easy to worth with. You can put it on thin or thick without much trouble. I am definitely hooked on this.
