Before even tasting these I noticed one big thing. The difference in nutrition. With Kashi Hummus Chips you get 27 chips per serving that only have 120 calories, 3.5 grams of fat and 180 mg of sodium. With my regular Sea Salt & Vinegar potato chips you get 14 chips per serving that have 150 calories, 8 grams of fat and 285 mg of sodium. Twice the amount of crisps per serving and it is still healthier.
None of that matters if the chips don’t taste good though. These were very light and airy. They were crispy but not too thick. They had nice flavoring but it was a little uneven. Some chips were much more seasoned than others. We tried them with two different kinds of dip and they didn’t break under pressure. My children all liked them quite well too.
I received the Sea Salt and Olive Oil Kashi Hummus Crisps but I suspect I would have liked the Caramelized Onion flavor much more. I will be trying that flavor soon. These would be a great snack for anyone, especially those of us who are trying to eat healthier without giving up our snacks.
