Starlooks Starbox May 2013

PTslmay1

My Starlooks Starbox showed up today. I am always excited for these. They have great products and stuff I wouldn’t normally buy but end up loving. The picture above is the cute box it arrived in. Loving the colors and zebra print!

PTSlmay2

The insert is very tribal looking.

PTslmay3

All the goodies including a tiny tribal nail file. Perfect for my purse!

PTslmay4

All of the items unboxed.

PTslmay5

Starlooks Cream Blush in Emphasize. I saw this and figured there is no way I am wearing that. I am quite pale and it is very dark in the container. Once I tried it I realized that it is blendable and buildable. It is nice and smooth on but very pigmented so use a deft hand when applying.

PTslmay6

Starlooks Pigment Luster in Cinnamon Toss. I love their pigments! I was so happy to get it in this color. I love brownish anything and this is a great addition to my stash.

PTslmay7

Starlooks Eyebrow Shader Compact. I love how these colors are so different so you can mix and match and create any color combo that suits your skin. This will definitely be used.

All in all this is another fantastic Starbox. I have yet to be disappointed if I try everything and give it a fair chance. Interested in trying Starbox? Visit their site here: Starlooks.

This was purchased by me.

Starlooks Starbox March 2013 Photos & Review

It’s that time again. My Starbox is here! For those that don’t know, it is a monthly subscription that sends you Starlooks products to try out. The catch is that you get full sized items! So, without further ado I present my March box:

PTslmar1

Our cute box is brown with blue text and a gold bow this time.

We got a code for eye goodies! YAY!

All of the goodies opened

PTslmar8

Starlooks Lipstick in Flutter: This is a beautiful frosty copper. It is a very warm color. The lipstick formula is a little grainy but not uncomfortable. It has great coverage in one swipe.

PTslmar9

This is Starlooks Eye Shadow in Disarray. It is a dark navy but appears mostly gray with a hint of a navy undertone. It only has the tiniest bit of sparkle and is almost matte. It was well pigmented and would be absolutely perfect for a dark blue smokey eye.

PTslmar10

This is Starlooks Vanilla Lip Sugar. It is a lip exfoliant and was included as an extra surprise. I like surprises! I opened this up and caught the smell of sugar cookies. It really smells so good. It felt good on my lips when I tried it. It wasn’t too rough or drying.

PTslmar11

Ah, finally. The elusive Starlooks Lengthening mascara has made its way into our box. I think a lot of makeup junkies have been hoping for this. The tube is huge and heavy, probably the heaviest I own. It went on smoothly and has a nice full brush to really pull those lashes up. I didn’t have goopy problems with it. Have to try this out for a few more days before I make my final decision on this one.

Starlooks February 2013 Photos and Review

I received my February Starlooks Starbox today. Here is what I received:

Feb SB

The February Starbox is a Special Edition with Lauren Clark.

Feb SB

I opened it up to find this beautiful insert.

Feb SB

My goodies all boxed up with a little book of Lauren wearing the products, making makeup suggestions and telling all about her.

Feb SB

My new goodies! What a cute girlie themed box. We received the following:

  • Starlooks  Lip Pencil in Tipsy
  • Starlooks Infinity Liner in Princess Diaries
  • Starlooks Lip Gloss in Pink Oasis
  • Starlooks HD Fluid Blush in Barbie.

Feb SB

  • Tipsy Lip Liner: This goes on smooth and is very well pigmented. Love their liners!
  • Princess Diaries Infinity Liner is a gorgeous light, shimmery pink cream eye liner. It goes on nice and smooth.
  • Pink Oasis Lip Gloss is a light pink with lots of shimmer. It is not too sticky.

Feb SB

Barbie HD Fluid Blush: What can I say? This stuff is outrageously pigmented and quite thick. My advice, only use a tiny bit for a great feminine cheek. It isn’t all sparkly and I love how smooth it is.

All in all Marci and the Starlooks crew hit it out of the park for me this month. One of the best memberships out there. What do you think of Starlooks? Have you tried it?

This is a beautiful peachy powder blush called Cuty Peach. It is nicely pigmented and a color that will compliment a lot of people. If it is too light or dark for you, just use it as a highlighter or eye shadow. I did have a hard time getting it open though… probably just me.

This is a simple brown eyeliner. It is nice and smooth and doesn’t pull at your skin.

This is a pretty green bracelet from Abby Rose Designs. It’s a medium green and is one size fits all. Lovin’ this!

This is the Starlooks Dome Brush aka eye shadow brush. It is nice and soft and not too fluffy.

This is Starlooks Diamondline Eye Liner in Fancy and it is an amazing green eyeliner. It is smooth to the touch and glides on very smooth. It’s probably my favorite thing out of this months box.

Starlooks December 2012 Starbox Photos

Woohoo! I got my much anticipated Starbox today. Last month a few people had a problem with their shadows being a little damaged from shipping. I am happy to report mine showed up this month in perfect condition. Here is what I received:

It came in a cute dark pink box with gold ribbon.

I opened it up to find this pretty insert as well as iridescent glittery pieces that looked like snow.

The palette inside it’s box. I like the windows on the box so I can see the colors without taking it out.

Here is the long anticipated palette. Beautiful isn’t it? I really like how there are 3 of each shade. This was definitely worth the price of this month! I always enjoy my Starboxes.

Starlooks Birthday Box Photos and Review

If you are a Starlooks Starbox subscriber they send you a birthday box during your birthday month. Isn’t that cool? Nothing skimpy either, nice full size products. My birthday was in November and here is what I got. They come in a cute pink box which I forgot to photograph but you can see it in the background here.

  • Starlooks Tender Gloss Lipstick in Tipsy: This is a medium shimmery orange lipstick. It is nice and smooth and doesn’t have a heavy scent. I am not a big orange lipstick user but this shade was quite complimentary on me.
  • Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy: This is a nice lip liner that compliments the lipstick. Love matching sets!
  • Starlooks Glitter Glam Brillants in BB Pink: This is loose fine glitter for your body, hair, face, etc. I actually wore it over shadow on my eyelids the first time. Afterwards I read that it isn’t to be used around eyes. Oops. It is super pretty and definitely my favorite thing in the box.

Starlooks Starbox November 2012 Photos & Review

I received my Starbox today. It is slowly becoming my most anticipated subscription each month. It probably has something to do with the fact that while I appreciate skincare, haircare and other beauty items, I really love makeup. Shocker I know lol. Anyway, here is what I got:

It came in this adorable leopard print box. Too cute!

The insert about the upcoming holiday box.

Insert with description of this month’s box.

This is what it looked like when I opened it. Two of the eyeshadows were loose in my box. They got the inside a bit dusty but they were only nicked on the top so they were fine. The box was completely closed so I am not even sure how they got loose.

So you will notice that odd looking pink thing. I didn’t know what it was when I first saw a picture of it. It is a mascara guard. Anyone who is clumsy like me or sneezes a lot can appreciate this. I hate getting my eye makeup just perfect only to “doink” it with my mascara, leaving an ugly black spot that I try to remove. Inevitably it leads to me having to redo half of my eyes. This will definitely be used.

The pretty shadows all back in their box. Nice autumn colors just like I love!

These are the shadows above, Top to bottom, left to right. Pretty aren’t they. The first color is hard to see on my arm but it shows up as a nice highlight on my eye.

I wasn’t too excited when I saw this color in the tube. I figured it was just another nude until…

I swatched it. It is a beautiful peachy gold with a nice subtle shimmer. Further proof that I need to try stuff before I make judgements. I really love this color. It is great for fall and winter looks. It would certainly look nice with the fall color shadows we got as well as a nice, light snowy look.

As always the box came with the cute little crystals inside that I forgot to get a picture of. Oops. The good news is that once again Starbox really hits it out of the park for me. I am so happy with what I got.

I also received my birthday Starbox but I will blog about that another day.

Starbox October 2012

I just received my Starbox for October. Here is what I got:

  • Lipstick in Masquerade: Love this. Soft and smooth, perfect fall color!
  • Pigment Luster in Posh: Lovely loose pigment with nice color and gentle sparkle.
  • Eye Pencil in Gold Dust: Super cool gold liner which is great, I don’t have a color like this yet.
  • Eyerock Eye Tattoo: I have never tried these but they look funky for Halloween!
  • Plus pretty packaging and little crystals

I am really happy with this box. Starbox continues to impress me with their cosmetics and customer service. This is definitely a subscription I recommend.

Starbox September Photos and Review

I received my Starbox from Starlooks today. Here is what I received:

Pretty white box with a silver bow

Starlooks Eyeshadow Primer

Starlooks Monographic 5 shade shadow palette

Inside of the palette

Swatches of the palette

Little gems for your eyes

As you can see we got some awesome stuff. I am still testing the Eyeshadow Primer but will get back to you on that. I used it under the swatches on my arm.

The palette is wonderful. At first look they all looked like different colors of the same type of mild shimmer shadow. Once I swatched them I saw a much bigger difference in color as well as finish. The yellow and green on the ends have more shimmer than the others. The pink and purple are more solid colors with only a hint of shimmer and the blue is somewhere between the two types. These will come in handy for lighter looks as well as highlighting.

We also got tiny gems for our eyes. I always admire the ladies that have jeweled eyes so I guess this is my turn to try it.

All in all I am really pleased with this month. Interested in Starbox? Check them out here.

Starbox August Photos and Review

I received my first Starbox from Starlooks last month. Here is what I received:

It comes wrapped in a black box with a cute ribbon

A description of the products and a note from Starlooks

I opened it to find these three items plus some cute crystals

The goodies removed from their boxes and wrappers.

I received an eyeliner brush, Starlooks lipgloss in Pink Petal Rose and Starlooks cream eyeliner in Sculpture.

Here is the brush up close. You can see it is nice and thin for good application control.

Two swatches of Sculpture and a swatch of Pink Petal Rose.

I know this only has three items in the box but they are all three full size items. The brush is good for making thin or thick lines. I really love Sculpture. I don’t think I have another color like it. It’s a beautiful grayish brown with gold undertones. Perfect for fall! The lipgloss is a nice sheer pink with lots of sparkle. The only problem I had with that was the stopper in the top that removes excess gloss from the brush kept popping out and I finally jammed it back in. I wish it was glued in a little better. The color was pretty and it seems to be flavorless and scentless for those that prefer that. All in all, it was a really nice box with good products.
